An Open Letter to Smiths Station from Current and Former Educators 

 

As educators, current and former, we have had the privilege of shaping the lives of the children of Smiths Station. Every day in the classroom, on the practice field, or at school events, we have seen the potential that lives within our young people. We believe that the future of Smiths Station rests in their hands, and it is our responsibility as a community to ensure they have every opportunity to thrive.

 

That is why we proudly endorse Richard Cooley for Mayor of Smiths Station.

 

As a former teacher, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Superintendent, Mayor Cooley has proven that he understands that the decisions he makes as Mayor will affect the future of the very children we have taught or are teaching today. His vision for Smiths Station is forward-looking, with an emphasis on building a community where families can flourish and students can dream big.

 

Mayor Cooley’s commitment to youth athletics is another reason we stand behind him. He recognizes that sports are more than just games, they teach teamwork, discipline, perseverance, and leadership. His support for youth athletic programs in Smiths Station has strengthened opportunities for our students both inside and outside the classroom, helping them grow into well-rounded citizens.

 

We know that a vote for Richard Cooley is a vote for a stronger Smiths Station, one that invests in our children and their futures. We are confident that under his leadership, our city will continue to be a place where the next generation can learn, grow, and succeed.
